Countdown to Peace – an exhibition for WW1

36 days until Armistice

A school during wartime

Today we feature: Radleian Society Minutes 11 June 1914. All plans for developments or appeals came to a sudden end in August 1914

AND Radley College War Memorial Fund Minute Book, 1917. All fundraising now turned to scholarships to support those whose fathers had fallen in the War. The War Memorial Fund was set up on 18 June 1917. The first scholar was already a boy at the school.

100 years later, the Radleian Society is holding a reunion today, and the War Memorial Committee has its annual meeting to award scholarships.
