Radley at the Olympics

Radley College has been involved in the Olympics since the inauguration of the modern games.  Sir Theodore Cook was an enthusiastic proponent of the movement.  He encouraged many boys from the school to help with the first London Olympics as ground staff and stewards.  This photo essay was originally researched by Jock Mullard, Radleian and Olympian. Tokyo 2020 – Tom George, Ollie Wynne-Griffith and Charlie Elwes win Bronze rowing together in Team GB VIII

London 2012 & Rio 2016 Sam Townsend, appointed m/c Rowing at Radley in 2016, rowed for Team GB

Paris 2024 Charlie Elwes won Gold rowing with the Mens’ VIII. Tom George and Ollie Wynne-Griffith teamed up to win Silver rowing together in the Coxless Pairs.
